Friends, New Englanders, countryfolk, lend me your donuts. DONUT SEASON HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN.

No, silly! Dunkin’ and Starbucks overlords have spoken. Pumpkin spice is coursing through our collective veins and it’s time to dine with the devil. Don your plaids and flannels and chelsea boots, even if you’re sweating bullets. It’s worth it for the cause, friends. It’s autumn somewhere.

“Mr Autumn Man, how are you so handsome? How many plaids do you own? Can we hang out?”

The Donuteur is no longer taking questions. Sorry, babes.

Oh and Beth’s farm market in Warren Maine? Not bad. They’re no russel orchards in Ipswitch but they hit the spot after a 9 month drought.

GLUTEN FREE FOLKS - It’s extremely hard to find gluten free cider donuts. I know. I’ve tried. Its the number one question I receive. Mr. Donuteur! Where can I get a gluten free cider donut?!

Well it’s complicated. Most farms don’t have the ability to have an entirely separate gluten free kitchen and especially when you factor in the cost of the donut robot frying machines and the fact that it would be impossible to share one machine with gluten and gluten free donuts. Let alone the contamination element!

All of that being said, Mainers who are looking for a solid baked cider donut that’s gluten free, look no further than Coveside Coffee. A solid donut that is entirely devoid of celiac-murdering ingredients.
