Kuwait's Ministry of Commerce and Industry has shut down eight commercial establishments and recorded 46 v!olations during a major inspection campaign in Ahmadi Governorate.

The inspections were carried out by emergency teams from the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. Authorities found several seri°us v!olations, leading to the immediate closure of eight businesses, while additional notices were issued for commercial licence-related offences.

The ministry confirmed that legal action has been taken against all v!olators and said inspection campaigns will continue across Kuwait to protect consumers, enforce market regulations, and ensure businesses comply with licensing laws.

Heavy traffic and long delays continue around the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Road stretching from the Shubra Roundabout to the entrance of West Abdullah Al Mubarak.

Ongoing roadworks, including construction, diversions, damaged roads, and reduced lane access, are creating major congestion. Drivers are advised to plan extra travel time, use alternative routes where possible, and drive carefully through the affected areas.

China and Kuwait are expanding their strategic partnership as they celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations. Chinese Ambassador Yang Xin said cooperation between the two countries has grown significantly, supported by close leadership ties and stronger collaboration across multiple sectors.

The ambassador confirmed that the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project has officially entered the implementation phase, while discussions are continuing on several other major infrastructure projects. Both countries are also working together on food security, water resources, sustainable development, and increasing official exchanges to strengthen future cooperation.
