Ok, so these photos really capture the problems with "Before/After" shots ("Before" = frumpy blurry screenshot with bad hair and lighting, "After" = posed with cute dog and hat in indirect outdoor lighting), but isn't this jacket SO MUCH BETTER now that it's properly tailored?

I bought this wool Pendleton jacket at a used gear shop 3 (I think) years ago thinking I'd remake it into bags or something but I never could snip into it because I really thought I would love wearing it. And, it only took 3 (I think) years of it sitting in my closet before I finally got up the guts to attempt the alteration (it is lined 😬). But I did it yesterday! And I wore it today on a long dog walk through the thickets and rocks by the river and I DO love wearing it (all those pockets! I mean really!)

Tiniest stitchery to date - I needed a project that was super small and portable for our bikepacking trip this weekend, and managed to get the essentials into a tiny kit that was perfect for stitching by the river at the end of day 2 of riding.

Sewing, like so many other creative pursuits, requires very simple materials that can quickly get out of hand when one has a whole box/closet/room in which to store supplies. Nice to get back to basics once in a while. And, as always, 100% repurposed, vintage, secondhand materials.
