On Wednesday July 22nd, from 6pm-7:30pm at Pizza By Alex, Better Biddeford will host a community talk with State Senator Henry Ingwersen to address community concerns regarding 2027 health care premium increases in Maine. Meeting content will also include policy updates and information about upcoming changes to the stateβs health care system from Consumers for Affordable Health Care (CAHC) and Maine Equal Justice (MEJ). Representatives from CAHC and MEJ will also share practical steps constituents can take to stay prepared and informed. We hope to see you there πππ

Spread the word! This month's Better Biddeford Community Party will be at The Dunn Bar Irish Pub! Join us Thursday, May 21, 6-9pm for a fun night with friends and neighbors! The Twin City Tenants' Alliance will be there helping folks register to vote and discussing tenant rights and resources. As always, this event is free and open to all. You are welcome to bring a dish to share, and no one will leave hungry.

The Spring Pollinator Festival was inspired by the Mayor's Monarch Pledge and supports the city's commitment to protecting native pollinators by celebrating spring with a variety of musical performances, workshops, and activities. This is a free, family friendly, fully volunteer-based event.

Want to be more civically engaged, but don't know where to start? Join us at the City Council meeting Tuesday April 14th. We'll wait for you at the back entrance until 5:15, and we'll go in and sit together (you can find me in the red vest). After the meeting we can go grab a snack and debrief if you want. Better Biddeford is here to make participating in local government accessible. Join us.
This meeting will be the second and final hearing for our City's social services budget. If you believe in funding our library, or other social services, please consider emailing your councilor, and/or speaking at this meeting. If you are unable to attend, but would like to submit remarks to have read at this meeting, please DM us with your name, ward, and remarks.
