Dress rehearsal with Handel Choir of Baltimore is done! Come out tonight for Barnes and Bach and Handel and Monteverdi--it's a bop of a program!

It's less than three weeks until we bring our new commission home to Maryland! We were thrilled when Jasmine Barnes told us she had chosen poetry by a fellow Baltimore native for her piece: that of Frances Ellen Watkins Harper. Born a free Black woman in 1825, Harper became widely known as a poet, novelist, teacher, lecturer, abolitionist, suffragist, activist and organizer.
