The Berwyn Police Department is now accepting applications for Telecommunicators. This vital position supports police, fire, and emergency medical response by answering emergency calls, providing pre-arrival instructions, and dispatching public safety personnel.

Starting salary: $𝟔𝟏,𝟎𝟔𝟐.𝟕𝟏
𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 include: Health insurance (including dental & vision); life insurance; IMRF pension; benefit time (sick leave, floating holidays, vacation, personal time)

Prior telecommunications experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must complete testing through the National Testing Network and submit a City of Berwyn employment application within two weeks of testing to be considered.

𝐀 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞. During a garage fire, Berwyn officers helped clear the home and learned the family’s puppy was still inside. Officers went back in, safely brought the scared pup out, and stayed with him while firefighters worked and the family regrouped.

We’re grateful everyone made it out safely, including this sweet little pup. 🐶💙
