ALL IN FOR LUCKY FIN 🧡

“Hello. I’m currently pregnant with a little boy, and during our anatomy scan we learned that he has several congenital limb differences. He has both of his radius and ulna and both of his tibia and fibula, but he is missing his left hand and left foot. On his right side, he has syndactyly and is also missing his big toe.

I haven’t publicly announced my pregnancy yet, so I’m hoping to keep my identity private from the public for now. I’m reaching out because I’m trying to learn as much as I can before he’s born, and I was wondering if your organization has ever come across a story of another child with a similar combination of limb differences. If so, is there any way to connect with that family anonymously, or do you know of any resources or support groups that might be helpful?

I’m not looking for medical advice, just hoping to hear from others with similar experiences. Thank you so much.”

“Hello, Lucky Fin community! Greetings from Brazil! I’m so happy I found you!

My son, João Pedro, was born on February 7 this year, and he’s almost five months old now. He was born with a lucky fin on his left hand—he only has his thumb.

When I first found out, I felt sad, worried, and guilty. But my husband wisely told me, “When our little boy arrives happy and healthy, it will only be a hand, and it won’t matter.” He was absolutely right.

João Pedro is such a smart and happy baby. He is the love of my life, beyond words and beyond this life. ❤️” - Marina
