Long before the desert learned the language of storms, the people of the dunes carried sacred vessels of water to the Desert Goddess. In a land where water was more precious than gold, more valuable than weapons, more sacred than promises, every offering was a sacrifice. The desert people shared their most precious currency with the Goddess, believing it kept the storms asleep and the sands merciful.
It was an ancient pact: water in exchange for silence.
As long as the offerings remained pure, the winds spared the caravans, the dunes remained calm, and travelers could cross the endless sands beneath an unbroken horizon.
But devotion eventually rotted into fear.
And fear invited betrayal....
