Cookie came from a terrible situation about a year and a half ago. She was supposed to be a TNR but when I realized how old she is and how rough her life has been, I decided she couldn’t be returned. She is approximately 879 years old, has a jaw that was clearly broken at one point because it’s healed crookedly, giving her an adorable snaggletooth, and prefers to spend the day sleeping up on top of something. It took a year for her to finally allow a pet or two and then one day when I was standing near her, she came over from her perch and rubbed herself against my head. She is head shy which I don’t like thinking about considering her wonky jaw. Maybe someone kicked her? We will never know but she prefers pets to come from the side or behind her vs at her head. She isn’t great at grooming so she gets brushed whenever she allows it. Despite her scraggly appearance she is a sweet girl who deserves a safe, loving home where she can live out her golden years. She gets along with other cats and she has an adorable baby face. If you are interested in giving Cookie a home, email us at [email protected]

Happy Monday update! Calvin, who has been with us for awhile, went to his forever home today! This guy came to us with horrific wounds to his left ear - he had ear mites and had dug so hard at his ear that it was partially torn off and dangling. Our vet tried to re-attach it several times but Calvin kept breaking it back open and refused to wear an e-collar. So, we took the whole ear off! He turned into a big mushy love bug once he realized how sweet indoor life can be. And when he went to he was in heaven. Visiting with everyone and flopping down on the nearest lap became his routine. But now he will be spoiled by his new mom. Thank you for giving this guy a wonderful home!

This cute little family needs a bit of a miracle. They came from the horrible St. Joseph, MO situation and unfortunately, they tested positive for feline leukemia. Mama is a sweeeeeet little thing who is the same size as her two kids. They are about 7 months old now. The gorgeous calico Siamese girl and her cow cat brother are very bonded with their mother. They were living in the porch of an abandoned house where their “caretaker” fed them hot dogs. Mom is on antibiotics right now for a mild upper respiratory infection but the two kids are fine. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to open their heart and home to this sweet family? If we can place them locally we will continue to provide any meds that may need as well as any vet care, bloodwork, etc. If you’re interested in giving these babies a loving home please email us at [email protected]

“The Big Lebowski” came for his annual boosters and charmed everyone! We’ve also met some cute dogs today.
