"People don't know that seven people are creating, curating, and manipulating everything that's coming into our lives."

That moment in this conversation between PCI Founder Gloria DeGaetano and PCI Certified Parent Coach® Natalie McCabe hits hard. In the midst of our busy days most of us aren’t thinking about the handful of tech elite using all sorts of schemes to capture and our attention and thought processes.

When we make intentional decisions regarding what is worthy of our kids' attention, we help them grow critical thinking skills about what they see and about what they choose to see.

We also help them understand that they, and no one else, must be in charge of their own brains.

Welcome to the PCI Certified Parent Coaches® community, Cindi Z. Stevens Copeland!

We're delighted to welcome Cindi to our growing global network of PCI Certified Parent Coaches®.

Based in Washington, D.C., Cindi brings more than 30 years of experience supporting children and families as a speech-language pathologist. She also holds a certificate in Foundations of Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied under Dr. Martin Seligman. Her understanding of the ecology of a child's development imbues her coaching. The family, the community, the culture, the systems—all the concentric circles of influence that shape who a child becomes and who a parent is becoming alongside them—are all taken into account in her coaching.

Cindy discovers what strengths are already present, what the parent already knows and then uses that information to support a positive solution-finding process. She knows that transformational change works from the inside out, and parents who discover their own strengths are on their way to sustainable success after the coaching is completed.

Cindi specializes in supporting families navigating:
• ADHD and executive functioning challenges
• Autism and neurodivergence
• Parent-child communication
• Blended families and divorce
• Learning concerns
• Parent stress and self-care
• International Families/Third Culture Kids

Cindy's coaching is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a belief in the strengths parents already possess.

Please join us in welcoming her to the PCI community! 💙

Mealtimes don’t have to feel like a battle.

In her latest article, PCI Certified Parent Coaches® member Julia Wilcox explores how parents can create healthier, less stressful relationships with food by shifting from control to curiosity.

Instead of pressure, what if the table became a place for:
• Exploration
• Connection
• Modeling healthy habits
• Building trust with our children

A few powerful reminders:
• Children learn about food over time
• “Picky eating” is part of exploration, not failure
• Modeling matters more than lecturing
• Curiosity creates more openness than pressure ever will

“When we remove restriction and control, children have more space to figure things out for themselves.”

The goal isn’t perfect eating — it’s helping children build a healthy, confident relationship with food that can last a lifetime.

Screens don’t have to be the center of family life.

In our latest Screen Time Parent Success Story, PCI Certified Parent Coach® Tierney Boggs shares how her family approaches technology with intention, connection, and creativity.

Her perspective:
“Do what you love and bring your children into it.”

From music and outdoor adventures to family movie nights filled with conversation, Tierney and her husband focus on creating meaningful real-world experiences first — and screen time naturally takes a smaller role.

A few takeaways from her story:
• Experiences in the real world come first
• Screen time works best as a shared family experience
• Parents model the habits children mirror
• Connection matters more than rigid rules
• Taking care of yourself changes everything

“We don’t rely on screens. We rely on experiences.”
