Working on that selfcare. For me that looks like spending some time in my reading nook watching the sun rise, enjoying a good facial (hehe), and getting some of my own medicine done, thanks
Establishing these boundaries with not only others, but myself, will allow me to be a better physician and provide better care.

Growth is sometimes messy.
Transition at times overwhelming.
Progress is often daunting.
And sometimes those leaps forward look like, or need to be, steps back.
It isn't always going to look pretty in a neat little package. Achieving your goals. Evolving and healing as a person. It's not always going to be the image we see scrolling through social media or the picture we saw in our mind.
But that friction of difficulty and struggle encourages growth. Encourages perseverance.

The profound in fiction. This is why I read it. I find the most insightful moments in fiction writing that help me transform and grow. Today it was Emily Henry's "Funny Story". Two paragraphs resonated so much with my journey.
"There's steadiness and dependability, and those are great. But settling? Just deciding you already know everything you like and dislike on the entire planet, everything you're good at, every friend you're going to make.....I wanted to know new parts of him, and I wanted to find new parts of myself."
"He was willing to be good to me, but he wasn't willing to be any better."
Wow. What a beautiful piece of writing that we can all grow from when life holds us in place to long.

The call of my journey pulls me through. Day after day. Through exhaustion. Discomfort. Doubt. Joy. The call urges me. You are capable. You are worthy. You can. You must...and I do.

She's calling and I must answer.
A song my soul must sing.
Let the waves break down my walls.
And the rhythm bring me ease.
She's calling and I must answer.
Her song shuts out the noise.
Let the wind whip away my worries.
And the currents bring me joy.
She's calling and I must answer.
A song as old as time.
Let her lyrics stir my heart.
And always be my guide.
