After further investigation, the victim has been identified as forty year old (40) Tola O. Falana.

Death Investigation

On May 22, 2026 at about 6:00am, our uniform patrol officers were dispatched to the 500 Block of Oaks Ave regarding a complaint of a deceased person. Detectives are investigating Falana's death. Limited information is available pending further investigation. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the department at 225-343-5525.

As the school year comes to a close, our Beyond Bars program has been a great success. We look forward to continuing this important work and hope students carry these lessons with them for life.
