Big Chief Alfred Doucette is a legendary New Orleans musician, performer, and Mardi Gras Indian chief. Born in 1931, he is best known as the longtime chief of the Flaming Arrows Mardi Gras Indian tribe. He remains an active, revered cultural icon in the city's indigenous Black masking traditions and vibrant rhythm and blues scene.
