Campaign to Elect Christopher Lemoine
I had two goals going into this election. Make the runoff in a majority democrat district and find my voice. Finding my voice meant putting myself in a discomfort zone. You see I've never been great with meeting new people or striking up conversations with people I didn't know. I knew once I qualitied to run that I would be forced into doing things I wasn't comfortable with. But with every candidtate forum I attended and every person new person I spoke with I found it was easier every time. I met one of my goals and it was the most important one. I did find my voice! I did talk with people I didn't know. I made many new friends along the way and shared lots of amazing experiences. So I may have lost at the polls but I'm winning in life.
Today is the first day to campaign for the election in 2027. I'll be prepared. I'll be raising the necessary funds. I'll continue to meet new people and find out what our communities needs.
They say you have to lose one to win one. Next step is winning.

We have a busy week of Candidate forums. Tonight we have the Southern University Power coalition from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM located at 598 Harding Blvd. Wednesday evening I'll be attending the Baker Lion's club candidate forum from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Not sure if we will have anything in Zachary, but would attend if invited.
Officially announcing my candidacy for State Representative District 63. I’m sure this will come as a surprise to many but I feel my skills in cyber security and Information Technology will be a great addition to the House of Representatives. The state us woefully behind in technology with two severe security incidents that impacted the Department of Motor Vehicles and exposed the great people of this state's private information.
I recently heard something that didn’t sit well with me. “Louisiana is great at everything bad and bad at everything great”. How do we change this? I know I don’t have all the answers but with a long career as a self-business owner I know how to find answers and get solutions!
My primary focus will include abolishing the State Income Tax, focusing on infrastructure, the brain drain and utilizing the one billion dollars awarded to Louisiana through the rural internet improvement act for Fiber Optic upgrades and deployments.
Income tax - Florida, Tennessee and Texas do not have income tax. For Louisiana to compete for the best and brightest we must create a level playing field with other southern states. Simply put, Louisiana citizens are over taxed! Baton Rouge has one of the highest sales taxes in the nation for cities with populations of 200,000 citizens or more.
Infrastructure - Baton Rouge is in dire need of additional interstate capacity. A toll loop would offload vehicles from the existing Interstates that are at capacity during morning and evening commutes. Address the congestion on the Horace Wilkinson Bridge aka the new bridge by having three lanes on the approach ramps. Highway 19 in Baker is also at capacity during rush hours. With the large investment and improving currently ongoing at the Baton Rouge Zoo we should be proactive and improve the highway for increased capacity.
The Brain Drain - Currently many students are attending college via TOPS. The is a worthwhile investment in our children but unfortunately, we are training other states' new workforce. Louisiana is at a loss for high paying jobs for graduating students. How do we retain our children?
Internet upgrades - Through the Rural Internet Improvement Act, Louisiana was awarded over One Billion dollars to deploy wired internet access to rural areas. Granted most of East Baton Rouge does have internet access, this bill would allow for the fiber optic cabling upgrade or deployment to areas that are lacking on bandwidth. I would work to get as much of that funding possible for E. Baton Rouge and our Feliciana neighbors where some areas do not have any access.
Campaigns are expensive! If you would like to donate and help me get elected, I would greatly appreciate it. Donations can be made at
