Feeling extra thankful today for the kind of friends who show up, cheer you on and help capture moments that mean the most.

And for this wild little soul, who’s brought me more laughter, love, and gray hairs than I thought possible. Wouldn’t trade a second of it. ❤️ Am I a red dog convert?! 🤔 She does go well with the scenery.

Photo credit to the kind and wonderful . I think everyone needs pics like these.

8 weeks ago, I got the call and my heart sank. "I think Ducky broke her leg..." And so started the rollercoaster of emotion while we figured out the plan of action for her shattered elbow. 5 weeks ago we got the great news that the bone had healed nicely and she could start returning to normal activity.

Yesterday, she had her first official time on sheep. The girl has some spice and came in hot 😂. It'll take her some time to "work" the sheep and develop skills and patience, not just chase them around the pen. But I think with some time she'll be my best friend and partner out in the field. ❤️

It was so cool to sit and watch Ducky, her mom and her grandma all laying together watching the sheep. This is what they were bred to do.

Some good news, FINALLY! X-ray recheck could not have gone better. There's full bone closure and she can return to some normal exercise! About 6 weeks until she can be fully let loose but short walks and some creek time were much needed for both of us. ❤️

🍂 Fall has arrived at Notalotta Acres, and just as the leaves are changing, so are things here on the homestead. 🍁

For 2025, I’ll be stepping back from public offerings. This farm has always been my passion and my joy—but balancing it all alone has become a bit too much with life pulling me in new directions. With rising costs and relentless predators, I’ve decided it’s time to take a break to recharge and rethink the future of Notalotta Acres.

Thank you for being part of this journey. This isn’t a goodbye, just a pause as I gather my strength and consider what’s next at NALA. 🌱
