"Mirror Mirror" features Baltimore-based artist and Philadelphia-based artist in a mixed-media exploration of how domestic traditions and decorative arts shape female identity. The exhibition engages themes of vanity, class aspiration, and the shifting power dynamics between human-built environments and the natural world. Central to this narrative is the history of self-portraiture as a radical act of agency. Historically excluded from formal training and the study of the figure, women artists often turned to the mirror as their primary subject. In this exhibition, reclaiming the self as subject becomes a source of empowerment. Working across painting and sculpture, the artists treat the gallery as a mutable site for intervention, using painted theatrical curtains and engaged architectural sculpture to suggest hidden sectors existing beyond the physical walls.

Childs paintings distill the complexities of human connection and emotional states using a minimalist presenting language of simplified form, color, and shape.
Hoesy Corona is a Latinx Q***r artist of Mexican descent creating uncategorized and multidisciplinary art spanning installation, performance, and sculpture. In the studio, Hoesy’s work highlights the complex relationship between humans and the environment by focusing on our changing climate and its impact on habitation and migration patterns.
Sophia Belkin uses dye painting, embroidery and textile collage to create intricate and dynamic compositions that reference natural processes. Her paintings explore our inextricable interconnectedness to the environment, and consider alternative futures for our ecological landscape.
This is a great opportunity to view and collect affordable works by these talented, internationally-exhibiting, Baltimore-based artists. More details at currentspace.com
