The difference between sharing information and gossiping…

…isn’t whether the information is true.

It’s why you’re sharing it, who you’re sharing it with, and what you’re hoping your words will accomplish.

Sometimes love requires us to speak—not to spread information, but to protect people from harm.

Wise warnings are not gossip when they are truthful, necessary, and shared with the right person for the right reason.

As followers of wisdom, our words should never become weapons disguised as concern. They should become instruments of truth, love, protection, and restoration.

This week, before sharing a story, ask yourself:

“Will my words bring healing… or simply create another listener?”

Choose wisdom. Protect people—not rumors.

Two years ago, I met Coach Dei Deitra LadyEvangelist Williams, during a season when I was emotionally exhausted.

I was working alongside someone I found incredibly difficult to work with, and I had reached the point where I was ready to walk away. Coach Dei didn’t just listen. She helped me see the situation differently. She reminded me that sometimes the hardest people to love are the ones who need understanding the most. She gave me language, perspective, and wisdom that allowed me to approach the situation with honesty, compassion, and grace instead of frustration.

That conversation stayed with me.

Fast forward to this year’s Unled Leading Men & Women event. To be recognized with an Honorable Citation by someone who had already poured into me years before was something I never expected.

As I looked around the room, I found myself surrounded by people whose stories deeply moved me. Leaders, advocates, and changemakers whose work has transformed lives across Baltimore. I quietly wondered if I truly belonged among them.

Coach Dei saw something different.

She saw me. The version of me that are the long nights, the sacrifices, the setbacks, the prayers, and the unwavering commitment it takes to build a nonprofit from the ground up. She chose to honor work that is often unseen, and that meant more than I can put into words.

Coach Dei, thank you for seeing me before I saw myself in this moment.

Thank you for reminding me that encouragement is never wasted. The seeds you plant through your words, your leadership, and your willingness to pour into others continue to bear fruit.

I also want to honor you.

I see your heart. I see your consistency. I see your commitment to lifting others while building stronger communities. The work you and Each One Save One & Bridge the Gap Foundation are doing is making a difference, and I believe your impact will continue to reach lives for years to come.

Thank you for choosing to lead with purpose, compassion, and vision. The same way you gave me my flowers, I gladly give them right back to you.

May we never underestimate the power of seeing someone, believing in them, and reminding them that what they’re building matters. 🌻💐🌺🌹

And.. Last but certainly not least, THANK YOU, to my fellow AVENGERS (LOGO’s Board Members) for rocking with ya girl til the wheels fall off! 💪🏾🫶🏾🙏🏾💐💐

In a world where opinions are formed in seconds and shared in minutes, wisdom invites us to slow down.

We can observe a moment without knowing the story.
We can witness behavior without understanding the history.
We can hear a sentence without knowing the conversation that came before it.

Too often, we mistake what we infer for what we know.
There is a difference between discernment and judgment.

Discernment evaluates actions based on truth and observable facts.

Judgment assumes motives, intentions, and stories we were never invited into.

When we fill in the gaps with assumptions and then share those assumptions with others, we’ve moved beyond discernment and into gossip.

Wisdom reminds us that humility asks questions before it forms conclusions.

Before speaking, consider:
• Did I witness this firsthand?
• Have I sought understanding?
• Am I speaking to the person… or about the person?
• Will my words bring clarity, healing, and truth—or simply spread assumptions?

The farther we move from facts, the farther we move from truth.

Not every observation deserves an opinion.
Not every opinion deserves an audience.
Not every audience deserves your words.

Protect your integrity by choosing understanding over assumption, humility over certainty, and truth over speculation.

“If I’m not close enough to ask questions, I’m probably not close enough to make conclusions.”

Choose to listen more. Assume less. Speak carefully.

Sometimes all a person needs is the right information at the right time.

If you or someone you know is facing food insecurity, housing challenges, utility shut-offs, a mental health crisis, domestic violence, or needs legal assistance, help is available.

💙 Save this post.
💙 Share it with someone who may need it.

We often hear that more is better.

More friends.
More connections.
More conversations.
More people.

But wisdom teaches something different:
QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.

It’s not about how many people are in your life. It’s about the quality of what you add to one another’s lives.
A person can do a thousand favors for you and still leave you feeling unseen, unheard, manipulated, guilty, or indebted. Why? Because healthy relationships aren’t measured by how much someone does. They’re measured by how they make you feel, how they treat you, and whether their presence contributes to your growth, peace, and well-being.

Love isn’t meant to keep score.
Care isn’t meant to be used as leverage.
Generosity isn’t meant to create obligation.

True connection is built on mutual respect, encouragement, honesty, trust, consistency, and grace.
The healthiest relationships don’t leave you feeling drained. They leave you feeling valued.
They don’t demand that you earn love. They freely give it.
They don’t constantly remind you of what they’ve done for you. They celebrate who you’re becoming.

As you reflect this week, ask yourself:
Are my relationships helping me grow or keeping me stuck?
Do I feel respected, supported, and valued?
Am I contributing quality to the lives of others?
Am I investing in relationships that produce peace, purpose, and growth?

You weren’t meant to connect with everyone.
You were meant to connect with the right people.

Choose depth over appearance.
Choose growth over obligation.
Choose quality over quantity.

Because a few healthy relationships are worth far more than a crowd of unhealthy ones.

Freedom is more than breaking chains, it’s living the life you were created to live.

Many people are physically free but still trapped by fear, hopelessness, unforgiveness, addiction, poverty, unhealthy thinking, broken relationships, or a lack of opportunity. True freedom is found when we pursue healing, purpose, growth, and hope together.

Freedom being…
Free to dream.
Free to learn.
Free to grow.
Free to forgive.
Free to serve.
Free to become who you were created to be.

Today, make the commitment:
Choose purpose over fear.
Choose growth over comfort.
Choose hope over despair.
Choose freedom every day.

Represent. Rebuild. Reshape. Community.

Have you ever been disappointed because someone didn’t show up the way you expected them to?
Sometimes the greatest source of frustration isn’t what others did or didn’t do. It’s the expectations we quietly carried without ever examining them.

An expectation can become an unspoken assumption that another person should think, feel, respond, or behave in a way that meets our needs. When left unchecked, expectations can turn into silent demands, attempts to control outcomes, or projections of our own values onto others.

Before expecting others to show up for us, wisdom invites us to ask a different question:
Am I showing up for myself?

Growth begins with the inner work.
The inner work is the often unseen process of examining our beliefs, attitudes, habits, wounds, and character. It’s learning to recognize unhealthy patterns, renewing our minds, building healthy habits, and addressing hurts that may still be influencing how we relate to others.

Healthy relationships are not built by demanding perfection from others. They are built through intentional growth, self-awareness, honest reflection, grace, understanding, and love.

This week, take a moment to reflect:
What expectations am I carrying?
Have I clearly communicated my needs?
Am I taking responsibility for my own growth?
What inner work still needs my attention?
Am I willing to ask for help on the journey?

Don’t be afraid of the work that happens behind the scenes. The strongest relationships are often built on the foundation of private growth, personal responsibility, and a commitment to becoming healthier from the inside out.

The fruit everyone sees is usually the result of roots nobody else sees.

Good leaders don’t just see tasks and data, they see people.

Empathy is more than being nice. It is the ability to understand, value, and consider the experiences, perspectives, and needs of others. It is one of the strongest qualities a leader can develop because people are more likely to trust those who make them feel seen, heard, and valued.

Leadership is not simply about directing people. It is about connecting with them.

Before speaking, listen.
Before judging, understand.
Before reacting, consider what someone else may be carrying.

When leaders choose empathy, they build bridges instead of barriers, trust instead of suspicion, and community instead of division.

CHOOSE EMPATHY.
