✨ Meet Precious ✨
And trust us… her name fits her perfectly. 🥹
Precious is a 9-month-old, 30 lb Sato (Puerto Rican street dog) with the most classic Sato ears and the gentlest soul. Quiet, sweet, and incredibly observant, she takes in the world carefully, learning what it means to finally feel safe and loved.
Like many street dogs, Precious can be shy at first — and honestly, we don’t blame her. The world hasn’t always been kind. But beneath that timid exterior is a truly beautiful dog who is trying so hard and gaining confidence every single day. ❤️
Precious is crate trained, leash trained, and potty trained, and she thrives with consistency and routine. She absolutely ADORES other dogs and must have a confident dog friend in the home to help show her the ropes and reassure her that everything is okay. Having another pup around helps her blossom in the sweetest ways.
She is good with dogs, cats, and dog-savvy children who understand that she needs patience and space while she builds trust. She is incredibly gentle — never aggressive — just a little scared.
The right family for Precious will understand that the best things take time. With patience, love, and a calm home, we know this beautiful girl is going to blossom into an amazing companion.
Satos are truly something special, and Precious is no exception. Could you be the family that shows her what forever feels like? 🐾
Apply to adopt Precious at the link in our bio, or message us!
Please share to help this sweet girl find her perfect home ❤️

🚨 FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED BY FRIDAY FOR BENJI 🚨
Look at this face!! Benji desperately needs a place to land by Friday.
At just 2 years old and 40 pounds, Benji is the kind of dog that makes you root for him. He’s a sweet, goofy boy who absolutely ADORES other dogs and he also does well with cats!
Benji is crate trained, potty trained, and walks beautifully on leash — honestly, he’s got a lot going for him. His only “catch”? He can be a little shy with new people at first, especially in his space. Because of that, we are looking for a home without kids and someone willing to give him a little patience while he settles in. But once he trusts you, he turns into a cuddle bug who wants belly rubs and love. ❤️
To help him succeed, any foster or adopter will receive a FREE training session with his trainer to set everyone up for success and make the transition as smooth as possible.
Benji just needs someone willing to give him a chance and understand that sometimes the best dogs take a minute to feel safe.
We would LOVE a foster-to-adopt, but at this point, we are in crunch time and desperately need any foster commitment by Friday.
Please message us if you are interested or with questions. Even a share could change everything for this boy. 🙏🐾

I'm sad. I'm overwhelmed. Sometimes it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel in rescue. There is always another dog dying, and always a return around the corner. There's always someone telling you that you aren't doing enough, that you aren't doing it right.
I think the assumption is we have endless capacity. That we are paid. That the government funds us. That we aren't emotionally bothered by the stress and trauma of it all. That there is always somewhere for a dog to go. That we aren't personally exposed to the raw intake side of it.
But those assumptions would be wrong. I've been sent hundreds of photos of dead dogs, dogs with their limbs cut off, dogs left to die in garbage bags, videos of torture, and photos of my own dog, Wilbur, with his face burned. I am currently trying to help coordinate a rescue of a dog that was intentionally set on fire. I have had to say no, knowing a death would be inevitable because there was no room and no money.
This month we have had 4 requests for returns for various reasons - I don't want to pay for training, I think it is "best", my lifestyle has changed - but the reality is still the same: every return takes space from another dog we could have helped.
At the end of it all, I cry for those who go through the trauma with me- all of our admin team who donate the limited time they have to help save the lives that we can and absorb the trauma of when we cannot, to all our families, including my own, who lose time with us, to the adopters who love their dogs with all their hearts, to our Maryland fosters who make saving lives possible, to the Puerto Rican fosters who see it with their own eyes instead of through videos and photos. You are all heroes and thank you for giving me the strength to wipe my tears and curse really loud in my kitchen, and continue on.
Somehow, despite all of it, we keep going — because for every heartbreak there is also the dog who finally gets to sleep safely, the scared dog who learns to trust, the family who loves them forever.
Sometimes rescue is really hard and today is one of those days. ❤️🩹
If you'd like to help please donate, foster, adopt.
Tomorrow is another day.

Do you follow our page and love what we do? Do you want to become part of the story? We need homes that are willing to take in adoptable dogs to continue our mission.
What do you get?
* An adorable dog that just wants to be loved
* Supplies, Food and Medical expenses paid
* A whole new group of FRIENDS with our foster gang
We have two pups that need a particular setting to thrive, these dogs are high priority and must be moved from their current foster homes.
Franny - 13 lb rat terrier mix, 3 years old, loves everyone, maybe a little TOO much. She gets along with other dogs and cats but wants all the attention, and can be nippy with other pets or small kids. We are looking for an only dog situation with no small children. Franny is potty trained, crate trained, loves fetch and cuddles. Her current foster has small children and this is the only reason she is being moved.
Nanook - He is a black lab mix, 8 months old, and around 30 lbs. He is a big puppy and doesn't know his own size, so small children are not recommended. He was shut down when he first arrived, but warmed up after about 72 hours. He needs another dog to get out his puppy energy and a foster that will correct him when he gets mouthy during play. He is crate, potty and leash trained.
After our last transport of 17 adult dogs, all of our foster homes are full. We need new fosters who are willing to open their heart and home. If these two aren't a good fit for your home, but you're interested in fostering, please fill out the application anyway. We'll find a good fit for you!
