It always precipitates on my birthday. Today’s rain 🌧️ isn’t any different.
What is different about this year is that I didn’t think I’d make it and I’m still here.
Earlier this month, 13 days ago to be exact, I had my first of few surgeries to come. My medical team removed a growth and replaced it with a titanium implant inside the back of my skull. Having it cancelled 8 times since the pandemic, it’s a bit surreal that it happened.
I can’t eat anything for 3 weeks. My clear liquid diet consists of Gatorade, bone broth, apple juice and water. To think, I only gave up pizza for Lent. God heard me and said, “Bet”.
And when I lost hope, a village came to save me. I wouldn’t be here without them. This birthday isn’t just mine, it’s shared with everyone who helped me in my 5 year journey.
Thank you for all of the warm wishes. Since I can’t eat anything, this recovery isn’t the easiest. So please share your food photos with me so I can live vicariously through you. 😉
Here is mine
