“I’ve really been trying to achieve a PR of 95 pounds on the bench press for the past 30 days or a little over. As you can see, I failed on my second try. On my first attempt, I managed to lift it, but it wasn’t clean. During the second try, I couldn’t bring it back up. However, I succeeded on my third, fourth, fifth, and sixth attempts, and those lifts were much cleaner. I’m proud of myself for that. I will be sticking with 95 pounds from now on. I will not drop the weight when I come to my bench press. If I can reach at least 120 or 130 pounds by the end of the year, I will be very proud of myself.

So, no matter how many times you pick that weight up and struggle to lift it overhead, don’t give up. Pick that weight up again! If you need to drop the weight and increase your reps to build strength and endurance, then do that as well. But what you should not do is walk away from it.”
