Q&A With Linked Legacy!

Question:
"I’m new to HR, with 8 years experience in Compliance. I was brought in as an HR Coordinator to essentially “build” and put in place an HR Dept. but I just am stuck on where exactly to begin. Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated! I feel like I have a vision and have already received praises for little things in the month I have been here, I just need a sense of direction to get everything going and not get discouraged. Extra notes: 77 internal employees; over 200+ contractors (IT Staffing). Thank you in advance! "

Q&A With Linked Legacy!

Question:
"I have a problematic employee who is saying they are being deprived of "progress, promotion, or training opportunities" and that certain interactions are causing emotional stress. I have investigated his reports numerous times and all of them have been debunked. We didn't discipline the worker but used it as a coaching opportunity for all involved. It doesn't seem to work because everytime there is some interaction with this employee, he turns it negative and I get an email. It is like the whole world is against them. This is starting to take a lot of time. The employee is ostracizing himself from the rest of the department because nobody wants to have a report on them. I am getting a few emails a week now. I think it is time to cut ties but how do I go about it without it looking like retaliation?"
