Join US Horse Welfare & Rescue for a beautiful summer day at Jerram Winery in New Hartford, CT, for Wine N’ Whinnies — Wine Tasting with a Purpose!

Enjoy wine tasting, food available for purchase, live entertainment by Marston Smith, and the chance to meet some of your favorite rescue horses during our special Hug a Horse experience from 2:00–5:00 PM.

This family-friendly event brings together great wine, music, horses, and community — all in support of the rescued and sanctuary horses at US Horse Welfare & Rescue. Every ticket helps provide hay, grain, veterinary care, farrier care, and safe, loving sanctuary for horses who need us most.

The next session of the US Horse Welfare and Rescue Riding Academy starts on July 21st, and registration is officially open!

Our Academy is designed to take young riders (ages 6+) to the next level. It’s about so much more than just learning to ride—we focus on building deep horsemanship skills, fostering lifelong friendships, and instilling values like responsibility, patience, and teamwork.

What’s included in the Academy?

Weekly Group Sessions: Part of our Summer Intercession, meeting Tuesdays from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Kids are matched with peers of similar age and ability.

Weekly Private/Semi-Private Lessons: Scheduled at your convenience! This ensures your child gets the dedicated, one-on-one attention they need to safely advance their skills. (Academy students get priority scheduling!)

📣🐴🐴🐴😢❓ Where are all of the people and organizations that are needed to help horses that are lanquishing at the lots right now? We have been helping as many TB's as we can but we cannot do it all. Sadly two horses have died that we are aware of. Horses need to get off of the lots NOW. Where is everyone, where is the ASPCA, Humane World (aka Humane Society of the United States) TAA, Homes for Horses Coalition, Mustang Groups, AQHA, Draft Orgs, Saddlebreds, Arabian Groups, and many more?
