Science In A Suitcase
They were the only team using the older EV3 robot.
They heard the chuckles.
They chose courage anyway.
Last week, students from rural community schools in Nanyuki, Kenya traveled outside their country for the first time — all the way to Singapore — to compete at the World Robot Olympiad. 🤖✈️
They explored a futuristic city, visited UWCSEA’s incredible innovation labs, and stepped onto a global stage with the world’s top teams.
At their first trial run, they realized every other team was using the newest Spike Prime robots. Ours were the only EV3s in the room. It was intimidating… but they didn’t back down.
They learned. They adapted.
They improved every day.
And they finished 78 out of 96 teams worldwide — proud, inspired, and forever changed.
This trip happened because our community showed up.
Google and Camden Education covered over a third of the cost, and 70+ donors helped raise the rest. We’re so grateful. 💛
Today is Giving Tuesday. Help us bring robotics and world-opening opportunities to even more kids in Laikipia.
Donate. Share. Believe in their potential.

When we travel, the kids travel.
From sunrise in Kenya to sunset in Singapore… the world opened up for these kids — and their dreams did too.
This is more than travel.
It’s transformation.
It’s possibility.
It’s the power of giving rural learners access to the world — and watching their confidence, curiosity, and dreams expand in real time.
We are so proud of the Sweetwaters Primary & Junior School team as they prepare to represent Kenya at the WRO Finals.
Stay tuned for more updates from Singapore!
While the school term ended weeks ago, our Sweet Waters robotics team hasn’t slowed down for a moment.
Instead of enjoying their holiday, Brian, Ryan, and Santana have been at school Monday through Friday, practicing tirelessly to prepare for the World Robotic Olympiad Finals in Singapore.
Their teachers, Loise, Robert and Jeremy, have been there with them every step of the way — giving their own holiday time to guide, teach, and cheer them on.
This is dedication.
This is passion.
And this is the power of opportunity in the hands of young innovators. 🌍🤖✨
