It's a week til the album release! Listen to the demo of "Bright Spot".
"'Bright Spot' was a song about a good friend of mine. We had both been through some difficult times, were about to graduate college and were feeling uncertain about the future. So I wanted to write her a nice friendship song, like 'hey I know everything's been kind of crappy but at least I've got you to laugh about all this with.' The demo was recorded at home on my Minidisc 4-track, which I loved at the time and thought was super hi-tech. Of course, that technology went the way of the Dodo quickly like a lot of the new 'cutting edge' stuff did then."

Our second album, "Picture in My Head", was released in May 2006. It was the first Household Names album to feature a band- Chris Peters joins on bass and multi-instruments and CJ Barker keeps a hard-hitting beat on the drums. Like the first record, it was also expertly produced by Lars Goransson. This deluxe edition features demos and unreleased songs from the period, including the "Lakehouse demos" recorded by Clay Fain.

From the new "Stories, No Names" (Deluxe Edition), a demo of Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth".
In 2007, Household Names signed an ill-fated "development deal" with Laura Kaufman, a publicist who worked early Aerosmith, among others. Other than flying out to Las Vegas to audition for famed producer Jack Douglas, not much came of the episode, except this: Kaufman, being a product of the 60s, suggested we cover "For What It's Worth". We initially resisted the idea, wondering how or why a modern rock band would even try such a cover, but ultimately we took it on as a challenge. We took a very different, Radiohead-like approach to the track, and it remained an unreleased moment in our history until now.
