Most discussions of quantum machine learning assume QRAM exists.
There’s just one problem: it doesn’t.
Over the past several weeks, I’ve been researching a hardware-aware approach to Quantum Machine Learning (QML) for cybersecurity that operates within the realities of today’s NISQ-era systems rather than relying on theoretical memory architectures.
The result is a new white paper from Iron Dillo Cybersecurity:
“Hardware-Aware Quantum Machine Learning for Cybersecurity: A NISQ-Era Framework Without QRAM Dependency”
The research focuses on:
• Hybrid quantum-classical cybersecurity pipelines
• Malicious URL and email anomaly detection
• Quantum kernel methods and variational classifiers
• Circuit depth constraints on near-term hardware
• Adversarial robustness and verifiable quantum architectures
The core argument is simple:
Practical quantum utility in cybersecurity will come from disciplined, hardware-aware engineering, not hypothetical infrastructure.
This is still early-stage applied research, but I’m excited to continue building, testing, and refining these ideas as quantum systems mature.
Post-Quantum Cryptography is moving from research to deployment. With standards now emerging from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the conversation is shifting from “if quantum breaks current cryptosystems” to “how organizations transition safely.”
Crypto agility and inventorying cryptographic dependencies are becoming the real priorities.
Iron Dillo Cybersecurity is officially back in motion.
