We’re proud to share a milestone for Ethos and the veterinary profession. 🐾

Our ASCEND framework (Advancing Skills, Competency, and Education in Veterinary Nursing Development) has been published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) — the first workforce-informed competency framework created specifically for veterinary nurses to be featured in the journal.

The manuscript, “A Workforce-Informed Competency Framework Defines 94 Core Abilities of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians,” establishes a shared, evidence-based foundation to support:

• competency-based training and development
• career growth and professional recognition
• consistent, high-quality patient care
• long-term workforce sustainability
