The enemy's oldest tactic isn't temptation — it's misrepresentation.

He corrupts the image of God first. Makes Him seem distant, disappointed, impossible to please. And when you believe that lie, you stay in hiding — not because God is the problem, but because the portrait you've been given is.

Jesus came to correct that picture. And He still does.

In the garden, the enemy didn't tell Adam and Eve to sin. He asked, "Did God really say?" He went for the image of God first.

Because he knew: the moment they believed God was withholding something good, they'd stop coming to Him. And the moment they stopped coming to Him, they'd be hungry for something to fill that space.

That's still his only play. Corrupt the image. Create the distance. Then walk in with counterfeits — belonging, worth, peace — offered through everything except the Father.

The real battle has always been over what you believe about who God is.

Here's something most of us were never taught: behavior doesn't produce belief. Belief produces behavior.

No matter how hard you try to change from the outside, the root runs deeper. Proverbs 4:23 calls it what it is — the heart is the source of life. Everything else flows from there.

Jesus knew that. He never led with behavior management. He went straight to the heart, and to what the heart believed about the Father.

That changes everything.

The hiding started in a garden. And if we're honest, most of us never left.

The enemy's oldest strategy is still working — corrupt your picture of God
so you keep running from the very One who wants to heal you. That voice
whispering "you're not ready, clean yourself up first"? That's not the
Father. That's the accuser.

God walked through that garden — unhurried, gentle —
asking just one question: "Where are you?"

For centuries, people built their picture of God from thunder, law, and fear.

But Jesus walked in and said: I'm the answer.

He is the exact imprint of God's very nature — not a gentler version, not a different God.

The same Father, finally seen clearly. (Heb 1:3)

And the way Jesus looked at every broken, searching person who came to Him?

That's exactly how the Father is looking at you right now.

What if God's love was never something you had to earn?

"In this is love — not that we loved God, but that He loved us." — 1 John 4:10

He proved it while you were still a sinner. That's not a God you earn. That's a Father who runs toward you.

Satan's oldest tactic isn't what most people think.

He didn't come out swinging.
He came as the reasonable one —
just asking a question.

"Did God really say...?" Genesis 3:1.

One question. One planted idea.
God is withholding. God is the problem.
God can't be trusted.

His name literally means false accuser —
and that strategy is still running today,
in the exact thoughts that keep people
hiding from the very One who loves them.

What if the hesitation you feel toward God
wasn't yours?

For centuries people built their picture of God
from incomplete glimpses — a consuming fire,
a voice in a storm, a judge behind a curtain.

But Jesus said: look at Me.
Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father. John 14:9.

Every healing. Every word of grace.
Every moment He reached toward the ones
nobody else would touch —
that was the Father showing you who He actually is.

What if you've been hiding from God because someone
lied to you about who He is?

Adam and Eve didn't hide because God was dangerous —
they hid because they believed a lie about Him.
That's still Satan's oldest move: corrupt your picture
of the Father so you spend your whole life running from
the One who's been running toward you.

God walked into the garden and called out.
Not to punish. To find.

There is something you've been holding back.

You know what it is.

Maybe you've prayed around it.
Maybe you've brought it close, but not all the way.
Maybe it's been there the whole series —

He is not forcing the door.
He is not breaking it down out of impatience.

He is knocking.
He has been knocking.

Not with frustration.
Not with diminishing patience.
Just knocking.

Because he wants to come in.

Not to inspect.
Not to correct and leave.
To eat with you.
To be with you.
To stay.

Most people who grew up in church
were handed a formula without knowing it.

Perform well.
Earn God's approval.
Then maybe find rest.

It feels spiritual.
It's exhausting.
And it never actually works —
because the bar never stops moving.

Grace flips the whole order.

God's approval is already a gift.

Obedience flows out of love —
not fear, not striving, not keeping score.

When you reverse that order,
you end up anxious, burnt out,
never sure if you've done enough.

When you embrace grace,
you find freedom, joy, and real transformation
from the inside out.
