The first Thursday nighter of the year turned out to be a smashfest! 🎣
Eight of us got bags over 60" for 3 fish, which is just crazy for a 3 hour tourney. Decker is fishing so good right now it's hard not to go there honestly. My big fish hit 21.75in 4.3lbs, and my 20.75in weighed just under 5
Big shoutout to .atx for having the quality products I'm always scrambling to find before a fishing event, including the Senkos and Xzone swammers I used last night

Some of my favorite moments of 2025 so far 🎣
Bass Nation Lake Travis event coming up this Saturday, time for redemption after the last two poor performances! Been editing some short cast to catch videos as well, hopefully if I like the quality of my footage I'll make a video of the tourney coming up

The most fun moment for me in fishing is when I'm practicing for a tournament on a new lake and I finally find the right ones. But something I've noticed is recently I'm way more apt to leave the "right fish" in search of even more patterns and areas to find em.
I never would have left behind 4lbers like this guy a couple years ago, but after this catch in practice I motored about 2 miles away from the area and started fishing offshore rock cause I knew there had to be other ways that potentially were even better 🎣

With O.H. Ivie in the rear view, I've been spending my time at Stillhouse Hollow practicing up for the Bass Nation event tomorrow.
This lake is my bane so far, when I catch one it's usually a 2lb+ but it's tough for me to find em. Hopefully my time pays off but I have a feeling this will be one of those events where I take my experience into next year and use it as a stepping stone toward better finishes in later years (like caddo 😅)

Lake O.H. Ivie is a wrap! 3rd place overall for the Bass Nation event 🎣
Spent 5 nights camping and fishing a bucket list lake of mine and it didn't disappoint in the slightest. It was a bit grindy but every catch felt rewarding and Saturday's conditions lined up for a great topwater bite. My big fish came on a clearwater popper I'd normally associate with smallies, but where there's pressure and 4ft+ visibility you gotta finesse at least a little bit imo. 2nd biggest came pitching a senko up real shallow in the green stuff. After 9am it was a real grind to get my limit and a couple small culls but they'd come up for the popper every once in a while. Stillhouse Bass Nation in a couple weeks 🤘
I also snapped my jig rod in the sticks so you alr know what the check is going toward 😅

O.H. Ivie event coming up this weekend, driving out to camp for the week today, hopefully I catch one of those DDs I'm always hearing about but I hear just getting a limit is tough out there. Hopefully practice pays off 🎣🎣🎣

Catching these toothy dinosaurs is starting to become a favorite of mine. Just NOT in a bass tournament 😅
O.H. Ivie Bass Nation coming up in just under 2 weeks, I decided to plan a camping trip early out there for some fun practice. Hopefully I can get on a giant! 🎣

Put my trolling motor through the ringer at Caddo, but that's where the fish were 😅
