7:30 PM — Recreating the Little Bang in the Lab (Talk by Dr. Christina Markert)🌀
Dr. Markert guides audiences through the physics of tiny, high-energy collisions that mirror conditions microseconds after the Big Bang—revealing how quark–gluon plasmas, particle jets, and “mini-universes” are generated inside modern accelerators.

Last week I first met with Mesmerize’s founder Mateo and hearing him sharing the vision of Mesmerize, I knew our visions and portals are aligned: creating experiences for people to see the magic around them, unleash their imagination and potential to free and empower themselves, and they can finally see it’s not the magic but themselves. So when Mateo mentioned they were looking for new sounds I knew my music and Welcome to the Portal would fit perfectly. And in less than a week, Welcome to the Portal came to life at Mesmerize thanks to the staff’s hard work.
Since I started sharing my music and performing publicly, many people have “portal-ed” through my music, but it doesn’t do the magic for me. This time experiencing my own creation in an immersive interactive installation setting, I get to not only listen to it, but visualize it, walk in it and touch it. This experience has evoked new feelings and senses for me, I’ve portal-ed!

This spring I took avant-garde & experimental filmmaking class with and my film “Change Is The Only Constant” will be premiering at tomorrow afternoon with other students’ work.
