What a feeling! Last night, I took a quick trip to Sugar Land to keynote the Asian American Democrats of Texas - AADT meeting, and for the first time, my parents got to hear me speak as a candidate for the Texas Legislature.

I have given a lot of speeches over the years, but this one made me the most nervous and meant the most. To top it off, I was honored with a Trailblazer Award. I am so grateful to everyone who made tonight special. Standing up for all communities and fighting for a Texas where everyone belongs is one of the greatest honors of my life.

Thank you to the Central Texas Legislative Delegation for standing with Austin ISD, our educators, our students, and our families.

Our community has worked hard to strengthen Austin ISD, and the people closest to our schools deserve a meaningful voice in decisions about their future. Austin ISD should not be shut out of this process. We should be focused on supporting and investing in our public schools, working in partnership with local leaders, and doing what is best for students.

Three years ago today, I was at the Texas Capitol when Democrats and Republicans overwhelmingly voted to impeach Ken Paxton for being too corrupt to serve.

Nothing has changed since then except now Ken is asking Texans for a promotion.

He won’t get one.
