If you're a student of Texas history, you're probably aware of the Texas State Historical Association. They've been around since 1897 educating Texans about their history. There's a battle underway. On one side are those who take great pride in their history, seek a complete and accurate telling of that history, including those past events that aren't much to be proud of. On the other side are the "woke" (I hate the word but it fits perfectly) who believe we have much to be ashamed of and we should now focus solely on telling the "white men were oppressors" story, and feature LGBTQIA+ Texan narratives for example. They're also the ones who believe 1836 was all about slavery. Read below to see what Texas history might be like if the good guys and gals don't win this fight.
