The future of impactful filmmaking is in the hands of those who won’t wait for a yes.

Reflecting on Sundance 2026 and how inspired I am by all of the filmmakers I met who continue to create, no matter what.

There are so many stories that have yet to be told. So much heart and soul that needs to be shared.

Grateful to represent Film as more creators uncover that the ‘yes’ we’ve been waiting for has been within us all long.

Coming off the high of SXSW feeling inspired ✨

Huge thanks to for spotlighting what’s happening at Film —link in bio.

More than ever, the future of filmmaking belongs to the fans.

If you’re making a film that speaks to a specific audience, you have the power to bring them into the process—not just as viewers, but as true collaborators in making something meaningful for the culture.

The thirst for original stories has never faded—we’re still hungry for bold, independent voices.

At SXSW, Kickstarter gathered some of the most exciting documentary and narrative filmmakers for an intimate dinner, celebrating the creative risks and groundbreaking work shaping the industry.

Here’s to the stories that push boundaries and the audiences that make them possible.

To an independent future,
Taylor ✌🏾

If you googled “Dumbo’s finest couple,” we wouldn’t be surprised if Daniel and Taylor K. Shaw Omachonu’s photos came up. And not just because they look amazing together, but also because they’re both inspiring in their own right. Shaw—from Chicago—is a writer and founder of . “I love that the work that I do is grounded in me sharing from the heart. I’ve found that the more I open up my heart, the better results I get from creative and business standpoints,” Taylor tells ESSENCE.

Meanwhile, Daniel, originally from Miami, works in tech sales, and also makes time to create his own thought-provoking rap music—especially on projects like Sonlight and Fun & Games. “With sales, I like the journey of earning someone’s trust,” Daniel explains of his work. “And with music, I like the journey of creation and the challenge of it. I think it’s a reminder that you can imagine something and then make it real.“
