Introducing our special guest hosts for the May showcase: Representing the Austin 48 Hour Film Project , Alyne Harding & Keira Marti !

The Austin 48 Hour Film Project is a wild weekend film competition where teams have just 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film. Teams are assigned a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue at the start of the event, and then must use these elements in their film. The winning film from Austin advances to Filmapalooza, a festival showcasing the best films from all participating cities around the globe.

ALYNE HARDING has been the Austin City Producer for the 48 Hour Film Project since 2013. Alyne fell in love with filmmaking after seeing “Return of the Jedi” NINE TIMES in the theater! She got her first taste of the 48HFP in Houston in 2007, moving to Austin the following year.

A varied assortment of event, social media, research and legal dayjobs gave Alyne the tenacity and skills needed to expand the local project to TWICE a year in 2015! Audacity, fantasy and the magic magenta streak in her hair may be the secret weapons she uses to overcome the unknown and keep reaching for greater heights with every new year, come what may!

KEIRA MARTI is a filmmaker from Austin, Texas. Along with acheiving her bachelor’s in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production from the Art Institute, She has helped produce the Austin 48 Hour Film Project twice a year starting in the fall of 2015; earning a promotion in 2018 to full City Producer. She works with other creatives producing content for the web, interactive experiences such as LARP, and more. And of course collaborating with her fellow producer to make the Austin 48 Hour Film Project awesome!
