Our family Christmas present this year was a new puppy! We have missed having a dog in our family something fierce and Jake and I had a blast surprising the kids with the news of this girl on Christmas Morning!

On NYE day we got to bring her home and we are all smitten! She is such a sweetie and fits right in!

Is it just me, or do other adolescent moms suddenly feel like an Uber?

I feel somewhere in the middle of cheering them on as they pursue friendships and interests AND looking around about 7pm wondering where the last four hours went.

I’m listening to the parents ahead of me and learning to hold space for this life stage. Hold space for the conversations that are unplanned… the treasures they share that give me insight into who they are becoming and the tender moments where I’m reminded they still need coaching.

Dear mom of adolescents, I’m tired too, but we’ve got this.
