Lamons Labradors

Now that I have some sleep under my belt….

I’m thrilled to introduce the arrival of our very first Lamons top and bottom breeding! One that has been carefully thought out and planned for years at this point. Secret does everything on her own time and doesn’t care what textbooks say about due dates (she was technically due over the weekend) and welcomed her first baby at 2:09am on June 18th. In standard Secret fashion she took her time with delivery, resting comfortably between each puppy. She had 5 puppies on board, though sadly we have 2 beautiful chocolate angels. One never took a breath and the other was born limp with no color, though I worked diligently to get going and after about 15 minutes she was breathing. Sadly she passed within a few hours as she just never got her bearings and struggled with the breathing aspect despite our best efforts. These kinds of things just come with the territory with breeding and whelping litters, it never gets easier and it’s exactly why not everyone can handle being a Breeder. It’s stressful and at times heartbreaking. We are blessed to have 3 BIG beautiful chocolates that have settled in wonderfully. We have two boys and a girl. They are thriving, eating well and all have big round bellies to show for it! With as big as Secret was we thought we would have about 8 puppies, but turns out she was just making chunky chocolate puppies 😅❤️

I literally cannot wait to announce the litter theme for this litter, but I’m still working out a call name for the female. As soon as I land on the right one, it will be announced. This litter theme has been in the works for quite awhile now! There is no availability in this litter.

Well Secret has decided to go earlier than expected as she likes to do. No puppies yet, but she has been in stage 1 labor today. Lots of panting and nesting going on. It’s going to be a LONG night!
