Barricade Exterminating & Turf Services

Homeowners who call us after a full season of w**d pressure, thinning turf, or pest damage almost always spend more getting caught up than they would have on a program from the start. Consistent seasonal treatment is less expensive and less disruptive than fixing problems that built up over time. If you've been putting it off, it's worth a conversation. Give us a call and we'll put something together that makes sense for your yard and your budget.

Lawns that come out of winter thin, discolored, or slow to green up are telling you something about what they went through. Nutrient depletion, soil compaction, and unmanaged w**d pressure through the cooler months all show up once growth starts again. We assess what's going on before recommending anything so the program actually addresses the right things. If your lawn isn't where you want it to be, now's a good time to call.

Nutsedge is one of the most frustrating w**ds we deal with in Augusta yards because it looks like grass but requires completely different chemistry to control. Homeowners often treat it with whatever broadleaf product they have on hand and wonder why nothing's working. Identifying it correctly and using the right targeted product is the only way to get ahead of it. Call us if you're dealing with something in your lawn that won't respond to what you've tried.

Lawns that thin out or die back in patches through the summer are often showing the result of skipped treatments, poor soil, or w**d pressure that went unmanaged in spring. The heat doesn't cause those problems, it just exposes them. Getting on a structured program before the season builds up is what keeps the lawn from hitting that wall. We're taking new clients and would be glad to put something together for your property.

Crabgrass is an opportunist. It moves into thin areas, bare spots, and edges where turf is already stressed. Once it establishes it spreads quickly and chokes out the grass around it. The only reliable way to manage it is pre-emergent applied before soil temperatures trigger germination. If you're already seeing it, call us and we'll talk through your options.

We see a lot of Augusta lawns that get plenty of water but stay thin and patchy through the season. Compacted soil, nutrient deficiency, and w**d competition are usually what's driving it. Once those get addressed the grass has a chance to actually fill in. If your lawn has been stuck in the same condition, we'd be glad to walk the property and tell you what we're seeing.

We hear this constantly from homeowners who've been fighting the same w**ds year after year. Pulling or spot spraying handles what's visible but doesn't stop germination or root systems that are already established. A program that addresses both pre and post emergent pressure is what breaks the cycle. Give us a call and we can look at what's actually going on in your yard.

Termites work from the inside out, which means visible signs like soft wood, bubbling paint, or mud tubes usually show up after they've been active for a while. The Augusta area's humidity and soil conditions make it pretty favorable territory for them. If you haven't had a termite inspection recently, it's worth a conversation. Give us a call and we can take a look.
