Wrapping up this year’s Hallowell Backyard Games with a few final favorites. Huge thanks to the organizers, volunteers, and athletes who make this such a welcoming and inspiring event every year. Can’t wait for next time!

Loved seeing the next generation step into the Games! The juniors division brought enthusiasm, big effort, and a glimpse of the future of Scottish athletics in Maine.

Power, precision, and a lot of flying objects! These Hallowell Backyard Games athletes make tossing stones, hammers, and cabers look effortless — but every throw takes serious focus and grit.

Just three days after a car accident left me in considerable pain, I was determined to keep my promise and made it to the Hallowell Backyard Games, cameras in hand. It wasn’t easy, but being surrounded by such great people and positive energy made every moment worthwhile. I stayed as long as I could before having to step away midway through the day. Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite moments from this wonderful event — and I’m already looking forward to capturing it again next year.
