The City of Augusta is excited to announce the launch of our new Citizen Alert System. This platform enhances our communication capabilities, ensuring you receive timely and critical information regarding emergencies, public safety alerts, community updates, and more.

Please be advised that this new Citizen Alert System requires all users to opt in. Your information from the previous system will not be automatically transferred to the new platform. We encourage all residents to register as soon as possible to ensure you do not miss out on important updates.

Good morning from Kennebec EMA. As of this morning, we currently have over 67,000 homes/businesses without power. Many towns in the county have no power whatsoever. We have been and will continue to work with the municipalities and CMP to make the roads passable for crew to start restoration. There are still many roads throughout the county that are blocked by down trees and wires. Please pay heed to cones and barricades that are placed for your protection.

Given that most of the county is with out power. We highly encourage everyone to please use their generators in a safe manner. Attached is some general information about safe use for generators.

We ask for everyone to be safe and patient as we continue to work towards restoration or services for the county. Thank you.
