🇺🇸❤️ A Fourth of July Reflection ❤️🇺🇸

As we celebrate today with family, friends, barbecues, and fireworks, I found myself reflecting on what freedom really means.

For me, freedom isn’t only something we celebrate once a year. It’s something we practice every day.

The freedom to choose love over fear.

The freedom to slow down in a world that constantly asks us to hurry.

The freedom to heal old wounds, to forgive, to grow, and to become more fully ourselves.

The freedom to care for one another.

Living here in the foothills of Northern California, I’m reminded of how fortunate we are to be surrounded by such incredible beauty. The rivers, the ancient oak trees, the rolling hills, and the open skies have held the stories of many generations.

Today, I also want to take a moment to acknowledge and honor the Indigenous peoples who cared for this land long before us. Their deep relationship with the Earth reminds us that the land is more than a place we live—it is something we are called to care for with gratitude, respect, and humility. We are grateful for the legacy of stewardship they leave for us to learn from.

Wherever you are today, I invite you to take just one quiet moment.

Step outside.

Feel the warmth of the sun.

Listen to the wind.

Place your feet on the Earth.

Take one deep breath and simply say…

Thank you.

Thank you for this life.

Thank you for this beautiful land.

Thank you for those who came before us.

Thank you for the people beside us.

And thank you for the opportunity to leave this world a little kinder than we found it.

May we celebrate not only our freedoms, but also our shared responsibility to care for one another, to care for this Earth, and to build communities rooted in compassion, respect, and hope.

Wishing you all a joyful, peaceful, and meaningful Fourth of July.

❤️🤍💙

Some nights you just feel it. ✨
The air was different June 20th. Auburn gathered, the drums started, the music moved through everyone and for a few hours, nothing else existed.
This is what community feels like when it's done right.
See you at the next one. 🌞
