Homelessness doesn't always look the way you might expect. Sometimes it looks like a mother working two jobs and the ends still don't meet. Sometimes it looks like a child doing homework on a motel bed this month. Out of the backseat of the minivan next. And sometimes it looks like a family doing everything right - but still struggling to find a place they can afford to call home.

In Metro Atlanta, there are only 27 affordable and available rental homes for every 100 extremely low-income households. In Cobb County, 2,600 students are homeless just like this. Thousands of families are caught in an impossible gap and it's not right.

These are not strangers. They're the CNAs drawing your blood at your doctor's office. The teachers aides helping our kids learn. They're the workers who keep our communities running every day.

The Cobb we don't see is often serving the Cobb we do.

At Bridge Communities, we're working to create safe, stable housing solutions that help families move from surviving to thriving. We call that giving them . Everybody needs that.

For the single mom working full-time, the teacher's aide, the nursing assistant, the family doing everything they're supposed to do - the math just isn't working anymore. And it hasn't for a long time. We just see that problem getting increasingly worse right here in Cobb County.

Right now in Metro Atlanta, for every 100 extremely low-income households, there are only 27 affordable and available rental homes. That means 73% of families are left searching for housing that simply doesn't exist.

Read that again.

The housing crisis isn't coming. It's here. And increasingly, it's impacting people who never imagined they could face housing instability. These aren't statistics. They're our neighbors, our coworkers, our church members, our children's classmates. That's as real as it gets.

At Bridge Communities, we believe families deserve more than impossible choices. That's why we're working with faith communities to transform underutilized church land into safe, dignified cottage communities that offer stability, hope and a pathway forward.

Because when 73 out of 100 families can't find a place they can afford, doing nothing is no longer an option.

It's easy to see a number. It's harder to see the family behind it. Let us help you picture it: see a mother working two jobs who still can't keep up with rent. Consider the grandparents raising their own grandkids on a fixed income. The young family that never thought they'd have to choose between housing, healthcare and groceries. The teacher's aide, the waitress, the CNA, the retail worker, the Door Dash driver who also works retail.

These are people who are working. They're really trying. They're doing everything they've been told to do. And yet, for 73 out of every 100 extremely low-income families in Metro Atlanta, there is no affordable place to live. It's not because they aren't working hard enough or because all they do is make bad choices.

It's because the housing they can afford simply DOES NOT EXIST.

The housing crisis isn't someone else's problem. It's unfolding in our communities, our schools, our churches and our neighborhoods right now. Our neighbors deserve better than a hopeless waiting list.
At Bridge Communities, we're working to create new pathways to stability, dignity and real hope for families who deserve a safe place to call home. We call it .

šŸŠRemember when your biggest responsibility was deciding whether an orange could become a pair of goggles? There's something beautiful about those moments when children feel safe enough to simply be kids. Laugh loudly. Play freely. Forget about the world for a little while.

That's the kind of joy we're working to create every day. Because every child deserves the freedom to just be a kid.

Today, we remember. We honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to others - and reflect on the peace, safety and freedom their sacrifice helped protect.

At Bridge Communities, we believe every family deserves the chance to experience that peace through the stability of home.

ā€œRoom to breatheā€ isn’t loud. Sometimes it looks just like this. A quiet morning. Keys to a home rest and regain strength in. A place to exhale after months - or years - of surviving.

At Bridge Communities, families in crisis are given more than temporary housing. They’re given stability, dignity and the space to rebuild for 6–24 months. Because healing often begins in peace.

A door that locks. Room to BREATHE. This one's a roof that doesn't come with a checkout time. No cop knocking on your car window telling you you can't sleep here.

This is, truly, where stability begins. Our smart, cottage homes are designed for dignity and growth - because every family deserves more than four walls. They deserve a foundation. If you, too, believe housing changes everything, help us build more of it. thebridgega.org
