I go through the details of each drive mode.
In my research of the VR30DDTT Oil Monitoring system I came across an interesting nugget about the piston cooling jets. They are not always spraying cooling oil on the pistons. This is probably a non issue for people in warm climates based on the criteria for the oil jets to be active, but for you all in colder climates this could be an issue. Here is the quoted text:
"ECM performs the variable hydraulic control (low oil pressure control and high oil pressure control) based on signals from each sensor according to oil temperature and engine load. ECM activates the engine oil pressure control solenoid valve and switches to the low oil pressure control and high oil pressure control. ECM uses the low oil pressure control for 80-90% of the operating area to maintain low oil pressure and stops piston cooling jet (i.e. achievement of less than or equal to jet injection valve opening pressure)."
Cooling Oil Jets are only active if a high engine speed with a coolant temperature above 140 F (60 C), and high engine load.
So don't just hammer your VR30 when it's not warmed up, as your pistons are NOT going to get the cooling oil jets.

Upgrading your SD card from a Class 4 to Class 10 or better improves map load times and general operation of the navigation system.
