A mirror is the one piece that works in every room and never stops working. It bounces light, doubles depth, and can turn any wall into a focal point.

In each of these projects, the mirrors are an integral part to the scheme. Whether it’s a geometric mirror on a floral wallpaper or a Venetian-style piece above a lucite bar console: each one does something a painting or a shelf cannot, because it reflects the room back to itself and makes the whole space feel larger and more intentional.

As an Atlanta interior designer blending antiques and modern design, I reach for mirrors in nearly every room I design, because a well-placed mirror with real character transforms a room faster than almost anything else in my toolkit.

Thank you and for including me in your annual Faces of Design list! I loved sharing a bit about my approach and philosophy in the feature.

I started my journey with my interior design blog Thou Swell as a sophomore in high school, which was instrumental in developing my personal style and helped launch my product line and interior design studio. With , I want to demonstrate that a worldly, luxury design brand can originate here and operate nationally. Atlanta has an increasingly sophisticated design culture, and there’s a real opportunity to be the studio that defines what “New Regency Style” means in this city and beyond.

For the centerpiece of this recently-installed dining area in my Boulder renovation project, I selected the Esme Chandelier with Smoke glass, so perfectly representative of the meeting of rustic elements and feminine details that defines this modern mountain house.

The dining room should never be bright but rather have a warm, inviting glow, and this fixture checks all the boxes. It’s sculptural, whimsical, and recalls the natural surroundings of the house.

I’m excited to share a first look inside a special renovation project I’ve been working on over the past two years. My close friend and client is the talented chef and event planner behind her family’s stunning Flagstaff Mountain estate , so naturally the dining area was the first space to come together.

The pièce de résistance in this room that bridges the kitchen and living room is the 14-foot wall I covered in ’s beautiful Wisteria Vine wallpaper. It’s a simpler, contemporary take on a chinoiserie floral that suits the rustic personality of this modern mountain house so well.
