Due to unforeseen circumstances, Demondrae Thurman will not serve as guest soloist on our Cobb Wind Symphony Annual Spring Concert on May 19. Otherwise, our concert will proceed as planned.

As a tribute to composer, the late Robert W. Smith, CWS will welcome 50 local middle school students to perform Robert’s “Encanto” with us. We have also programmed the Georgia Premiere of Kevin Day’s “Stride” followed by Marie Douglas’ electric homage to ATL, “Big City Lights.”

As an added treat, we will celebrate song stylist Sarah Vaughn’s 100th Birthday by performing her classic hit, “Misty.” It will be performed by fantastic local saxophonist, Antoine Gibson. Tchaikovsky’s “March Slav,” Tony Bennett’s “I Left My Home in San Francisco” Copley’s “Halcyon Lights,” Bocook’s “Young Person’s Guide to John Williams” and the premier of our own Kevin Tant’s, “March 31st” will round out the concert.
