Care For Ga
04/23/2026
As of April 23, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice & the Trump administration has reclassified certain cannabis products from Schedule I to Schedule III, specifically:
* FDA-approved products containing ma*****na
* Products containing ma*****na regulated under qualifying state-issued medical ma*****na licenses
What Schedule III Means: Schedule III substances are recognized as having accepted medical use and lower abuse potential than Schedule I drugs.
Other Schedule III Substances include:
* Ketamine
* Testosterone
* Certain codeine products
This does not federally legalize recreational ma*****na nor does it:
* Does not automatically free prisoners or erase convictions
* Does not automatically allow interstate cannabis commerce
* Does not override state laws
There has been movement to Schedule III, but it is not yet full blanket descheduling/legalization of all cannabis nationwide.
Adult-use/recreational cannabis remains federally restricted, and broader nationwide rescheduling is still subject to additional DEA proceedings/hearings.
