In a thrilling game, the top-seeded Clayton State University men's soccer team secured their first championship victory since 2007 by defeating the second-seeded Lander University Bearcats 4-2 in double overtime. After a scoreless first half, the game turned into a scoring frenzy in the second half, with both teams taking the lead and equalizing. Clayton State ultimately emerged victorious, with goals from Wilfried Kamden, John Michael Torres, Alexis Iturria, and Vic Delgado Miller. This historic win earned them a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010, marking a significant achievement for the team and their coach, Pete Petersen.
