A career without connection is just achievement in isolation.

So many of us were taught to treat relationships as something we get back to after the work is done.

After the launch.
After the promotion.
After the next milestone.
After things calm down.

But connection is not the thing we return to when the important work is over.

Connection is the important work.

Careers are built through trust, proximity, reputation, generosity, repair, collaboration, and the quiet accumulation of people knowing what it feels like to be in relationship with you.

And beyond career, connection is what gives the whole thing meaning.

Success without people to share it with, learn from, serve, love, laugh with, and be changed by becomes strangely hollow.

The work matters.

But without connection, we lose the reason we were working so hard in the first place.

If you are ready to reconnect with what matters most, let's talk: https://dtkcoaching.com/wake-up/

The “how monster” loves to solve fast!

How do I fix this?
How do I organize it?
How do I control it?
How do I get around it?

But “how” is not always the best first question.

Before we solve, we have to understand what we are actually solving for.
What is impacting the system?
Where is it showing up?
What pattern is underneath the problem in front of us?

This matters in work, leadership, relationships, and especially when we are building systems that need to support different kinds of brains.

A tool, structure, or plan can be useful. But only if it is solving the right problem.

So here is the coaching question I’m sitting with:

Where are you rushing to “how” before you have fully named the “what” (or the "why")?
