Look, I'm a local business owner and yes, times are difficult right now, blah, blah, blah, but it's my company, so I'll suck it up. BUT it's really hard right now to be an employee also, so this post is for them.
When you're out and about today and run into various employees, Be Nice. When the line at McDonald's is wrapped around the building and you get to the drive through, give them the biggest smile ever and thank them for being there. And Be Nice. When your favorite store closes 2 hours before their normal closing time because the are short staffed, don't rail them on FB. Just Be Nice. When the grocery store or Walmart lines are backed up, or you have to bag your own groceries, don't be angry with the register person. Tell them that they are doing a great job and Be Nice.
They are stressed out, believe me. They want to keep working but mean people are making an already difficult situation, worse.
I had a customer rail out one of my employees yesterday for something that he had zero control over. Why? Just call me and hash it out, you have my phone number. But Be Nice to the employees. They are the Only Ones holding all of this s**t together so that the rest of us can still get the services and products that we have grown accustomed to.
We're all in this together. Be Nice out there.
