Safari isn’t just a bucket list item to check off. It’s the starting point of an entire new continent to discover and can actually be affordable when you consider what’s included, take advantage of special milestone offers and plan your trip to see specific wildlife and scenery.

I think my Africa safari immersion did nothing but create an even bigger monster in me that must go explore every nook and cranny of an enormous continent. A few places out of hundreds stood out to me and these are those standouts. An elephant rescue/safari camp combo, a private island for ocean safari, a lakeside lodge where you can trek for chimps, a woman-owned retreat you can reach by train, and a brand new, high design yet easy access lodge at the gateway to the Serengeti. Jambo and let’s get at it!!
It’s road trip time for those of you in or near Atlanta and the Southeast. Two of my favorite Lowcountry getaways - and . Lots to do or nothing to do. Easy drive so you can pack the car to the tippy top. Perks when you book with me!

Save yourself from the pain of the airport and take a road trip instead.
This one’s for you, California. 2 hours north of LA and four hours south of SFO, the Santa Ynez Valley has it all. For families: glamping, water parks, ostriches, s’mores and zip lines. For the grown ups: Michelin recognized restaurants, luxury hotels, a dude ranch, wine tasting and great shopping. For spoiled dogs: Everything.
My guide to the valley is at the link in my bio and here are a few of my favorites:
