소주 [soh-joo or soju] Korean vodka

Soju is a clear, distilled Korean liquor that's often called the Korean vodka. It's usually consumed neat, and has a neutral flavor, crisp taste, and sometimes a touch of burnt rice. Soju is distilled from grains, such as wheat, barley, or rice, and has an alcohol content of about 12.9% to 53% alcohol by volume (ABV). Since 2007, low alcohol soju below 20% has become more popular.
