There comes a point in dementia caregiving when you realize…

You are no longer reading sentences.

You are decoding… letters.

Lots and lots of letters.

You’ll be scrolling along just fine and then suddenly see something like:
“MWD in MC, ADLs declining, possible UTI, check with POA before SNF transfer…”

…and think…

I’m sorry — what now?

So I’m sharing this here in case it helps someone else translate what can feel like a whole new language.

No commentary. No advice.
Just a simple “here’s what SOME of those letters mean” list:
